Nunca, meaning ‘never' in Portuguese, started painting in 1992 and is now one of the rising stars in Sao Paulo's graffiti scene. Characters have always played a part in his work. His work focuses on Brazilian culture, especially its indigenous peoples.
His latest work juxtaposes urban and native cultures, by combining the geometric patterns and colours found in Indian artwork with the linework of pichacao. The resulting portraits of native Indians, serve as a reminder “that people in Brazil are also Indian descendents and not just African and European people.”
